Phagwara – Industrial & NRI Hub of Doaba, Punjab

Phagwara known for its NRI citizens is a town of Doaba Area from Kapurthala district, Punjab famous for auto parts manufacturings. It’s a prominent industrial city known for sugar, starch and NRI population located on National Highway 44. Phagwara is major industrial town of Punjab and own municipal corporation.

History :-  Phagwara began as a small market settlement and is believed to have been founded by Chaudhary Phaggu Mal Basra, a local Jagirdar. In 1635, Guru Hargobind visited the town, an event that remains an important part of local history and tradition.

During the 18th century, the area came under the rule of the Ahluwalia Sikh dynasty of Kapurthala. Later, in 1803, the region was brought under the control of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, marking a significant shift in its political history.
